Our History

Here at Oologah High School, we take pride and excel academically.  This is evidenced by our ACT scores, our 15 Academic All-State students we had, and by our recent Presidential Scholar. OHS is truly a place where you can reach for the sky academically.

Presidential Scholar

The U.S. Presidential Scholars Program was established in 1964, by executive order of the President, to recognize and honor some of our nation's most distinguished graduating high school seniors. In 1979, the program was extended to recognize students who demonstrate exceptional talent in the visual, creative and performing arts. In 2015, the program was again extended to recognize students who demonstrate ability and accomplishment in career and technical education fields. Each year, up to 161 students are named as Presidential Scholars, one of the nation's highest honors for high school students.  Typically 1 young man and 1 young lady are chosen to represent each state.  You can find the U.S. Presidential Scholar website by clicking here.

We were very fortunate to have a Presidential Scholar in 2018,  Ms. Jamie Marrara. 2018 Recipients

Academic All-State

Here at Oologah High School, we have a rich tradition of Academic All-State Students.  To be considered, a student must obtain a minimum of a 30 in his/her ACT.  Each year, only 100 students are selected to the Academic All-State Class.  The 2020 Academic All-State class is the 34th to be selected by the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence. Since the award program’s inception in 1987, some 3,400 high school seniors from 326 school districts have been named Academic All-State scholars.  For more info, please check out their website.
