We offer a wide variety of programs designed to help students prepare for their future careers.

English Depart­ment

The English Department at Oologah High School offers a comprehensive curriculum that builds strong reading, writing, and critical thinking skills. Core courses include English I–IV, Pre-AP, and AP options for college preparation. Students explore classic and modern literature, composition, and research. Electives like Yearbook and Film as Literature allow creative expression and real-world application of language arts skills.

Fine Arts

The Fine Arts program at Oologah High School offers students the opportunity to explore and develop their talents in music, visual arts, theater, and communication. Through a variety of engaging courses, students gain creative expression, technical skills, cultural appreciation, and performance experience. Whether participating in band, choir, art, drama, or speech and debate, students build confidence, collaboration skills, and a lifelong appreciation for the arts.

Math Depart­ment

The Math Department at Oologah High School offers a strong foundation in mathematical concepts through courses such as Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Trigonometry, and AP Calculus. College and Career Ready Math prepares students for life after high school with practical applications. An ACT Prep course is also available for elective credit, helping students boost their college readiness and test-taking skills. Courses support all levels of learners.

Science Depart­ment

The Science Department at Oologah High School offers a wide range of courses that promote scientific thinking, hands-on experimentation, and real-world application. Core classes include Physical Science, Biology, Chemistry, AP Chemistry, and AP Physics. Electives such as Forensic Science, S.T.E.M., and Environmental Science allow students to explore specialized fields and develop critical problem-solving and analytical skills.

History Depart­ment

The History Department at Oologah High School helps students understand the past and how it shapes the present. Courses include Oklahoma History, U.S. History, World History, Government, and Economics. Students explore historical events, political systems, global cultures, and financial literacy. These classes build critical thinking, civic awareness, and a strong foundation for college, careers, and informed citizenship.

Career Tech Depart­ment

The Career Tech Department at Oologah High School equips students with real-world skills in agriculture, family science, technology, and media. Courses include Family and Consumer Sciences, Web Design, Powertech, Ag Communications, and more. Students gain hands-on experience, leadership skills, and career readiness in high-demand fields while exploring personal interests and future pathways.

Research shows one of the best ways to prepare for college rigor is by completing four years of coursework in each core academic area.

Students who complete a 4x4 plan are more likely to:

OHS students who complete:

score an average of 4.8 points higher on the ACT than students who stop at Algebra II.
